How Prototyping Works

Concept Sketches

During this phase, we’ll discuss rough ideas and workflows and sketch the general layout on a whiteboard/sketchpad. This gives you a better idea of what the application will look like and how features will be arranged. Our UI experts will provide insights and support in discussing where UI elements and controls should be located while weighing in on functionality and workflow.

Low-Fidelity Wireframes

During this stage, we work to define and refine the overall layout, content areas, and interactive elements of the app. We’ll map some on-page and navigation iterations in black and white, adding minimal text, shapes, boxes, and outlines. There will be minimal interaction at this stage as we begin to prioritize features and elements.

Medium-Fidelity Prototypes

At this stage, your product design starts to take shape. The team will discuss content placement, visual prioritization, workflows, and on-page interaction. While the prototype will remain in black and white, minimal shading and color may be added, along with additional text and image content. At this stage, there is enough detail to begin development.

High-Fidelity Prototypes

High-fidelity prototypes outline every detail of the colors, font styles, sizes, placement, and interactions that should happen on the app. It is an essential part of development.During this stage, you will be able to view a prototype that resembles the final product without actual functionality. This will lead to fewer errors and less rework down the line.
